As a thank you gesture to Wellington’s stadium-goers, the latest Lord of the Rings trailer will screen for the first time in New Zealand at the WestpacTrust Stadium during halftime of the KENO Test match between the Kiwis and Kangaroos on Saturday night.

Wellingtonians played a cameo role in the movie during the One Day International between the Black Caps and England during last summer. Lord of the Ring director Peter Jackson choreographed stamping, chanting, chest beating cricket fans for a scene in “The Two Towers,” which is part two of the The Lord of the Rings trilogy.

The sound effects were used for a marching army as it advances to a war and one of the key scenes in the new movie, which will be released to cinemas in New Zealand on December 19.
