A review of the public transport system could be the answer to Wellington's bus problems

National introduced the current operations model in 2011.

Phil Twyford has announced today there will be a full review of that model.

It comes after months of cancelled and late buses for the capital since a system overhaul last year.

Twyford says the industry has struggled to provide consistent bus services.

He says it's caused huge problems in Wellington on a daily basis.
