Air New Zealand's net profit has slumped by 32 per cent to 101-million dollars -- and the airline says the coronavirus outbreak makes its outlook uncertain

It's recorded earnings before other significant items and taxation of 198-million dollars for the six-month period to December, down from 217-million.

Air New Zealand chief financial officer Jeff McDowall is pleased with the result because the airline's faced significant challenges during that time.

He says they include a significant downturn in cargo markets around the world, because of the trade disputes between the US and China.
