    Increased freighting costs may see consumers paying higher prices at the checkout


    Cost pressures are continuing to bite for the road freight industry, due to increasing insurance, maintenance, wages, and asset depreciation costs.

    Billy Clemens from Transporting New Zealand says many trucking businesses are struggling to stay afloat.

    He says there's a risk that the costs will be passed onto consumers.
