A new survey's found more than a third of women have struggled to afford necessary period products

A new survey's found more than a third of women have struggled to afford necessary period products

The survey of more than 1000 New Zealanders aged between 16 and 54 also found 48 percent felt their periods caused them financial stress or anxiety.

66 percent of respondents sometimes worried about how they'd get products if they ran out or were caught out.

The Period Place co-founder and CEO Danika Revell says it shows the need for access to period products in all bathrooms.

She says it's something that should be in every bathroom - the same as soap, toilet paper and running water.
