Calls for the Government to invest more in primary care

Calls for the Government to invest more in primary care

The General Practice Owners Association has filed a complaint with the Commerce Commission, over what it says are unfair and illegal funding contracts.

It says funding issues are putting additional strain on already overburdened emergency departments.

General Practice New Zealand chairman Dr Bryan Betty, says he understands why GenPro's taking action, as a recent funding boost proposal of four percent is unacceptable.

He says there was no room to negotiate the offer, which the sector agreed was not enough.
