Retail investors appear to be a little anxious

Investment app Sharesies' latest investment confidence index has fallen 14-points in the past three months, from 45 to 31.

Sharesies is putting the slide down to ongoing volatility, and uncertainty about interest rates and the US election.

Deposits remain at near-record levels, but users are opting more for funds than individual companies.

Some companies are proving very popular , though -- like Rocket Lab, Tesla, and NVIDIA .
