ANZ's boss is shooting down a Commerce Commission claim competition's lacking in banking

ANZ's boss is shooting down a Commerce Commission claim competition's lacking in banking

MPs on the finance and expenditure committee are questioning the big banks - as part of an inquiry into the sector.

The Commerce Commission this year found our banks reap some of the highest profits in the world.

ANZ CEO, Antonia Watson, told MPs she disagrees with the claim Kiwibank needs support to become a maverick player against the big banks.

She says it's winning 25 percent of home loans and business banking - which is significant competition.
