Community corrections staff are bargaining for a pay rise after their pay equity claim was tossed out by the Government

Community corrections staff are bargaining for a pay rise after their pay equity claim was tossed out by the Government

The Public Service Association says the Corrections workers, which includes probation officers, have only received a one-percent pay rise offer.

The 2100 workers are threatening to stop work if a better offer isn't reached at bargaining on Wednesday.

National Secretary Fleur Fitzsimons says the staff are vital for criminal reintegration.

She says they're frustrated they can't get a reasonable pay offer.
