In what's been described as a landmark case - Jetstar has been fined more than two million dollars for misleading passengers about their compensation rights

In the Auckland District Court the airline was in breach of the Fair Trading Act, for misleading nearly 100-thousand customers.

The breaches were in regards to compensation for flight cancellations and delays.

Jetstar claimed the Covid-19 pandemic caused it to lay off experienced workers and replace them with inexperienced staff who provided flyers with the wrong advice.
