While the Government's looking to increase housing supply - the actual cost of building might be getting more expensive

While the Government's looking to increase housing supply - the actual cost of building might be getting more expensive

Combined Building Supplies Cooperative director Carl Taylor says there's price increases across the board - from timber, to tapwear, and even nails.

He says it's a supply and demand issue, impacted by importing struggles.

He says some suppliers are resorting to air freight because sea freight costs more than doubled.

However, Taylor says suppliers can only hold onto those price increases for so long before they're relayed to the consumer.
