Wastewater remediation works are running smoothly in Wellington's Moa Point, following Wednesday's sewerage leak

Wastewater remediation works are running smoothly in Wellington's Moa Point, following Wednesday's sewerage leak

Wellington Water says efforts to discharge waste through the city's long outfall pipe have been successful.

They're warning of a noticeable odour as works continue, and earlier cautions remain for locals not to swim or fish in the area, and not to walk their dogs along the beach.

Wellington Water Chair Nick Leggett says the treatment plant needs further work.

He says it will take months for the facility to be fully-operational again.
