Liam Squire looms as a contender for the All Blacks troublesome number six jersey next year

Liam Squire looms as a contender for the All Blacks troublesome number six jersey next year

The former All Blacks flanker is back from Japan having recovered from hip surgery and has signed with the Highlanders for Super Rugby Aotearoa.

The 29 year old was unavailable for last year's World Cup citing personal reasons but says he's not done with international rugby yet.

Promising young fullback Zarn Sullivan has been handed a first Super Rugby contract with the Blues.

Outside backs Chase Tiatia and Jonah Lowe have both left the Hurricanes to join the Chiefs.

The Canes have snapped up Hawke's bay winger Lolagi Visinia while the Crusaders have four new caps including promising Chay Fihaki.
