Rieko Ioane and Finlay Christie will miss the Blues' Super Round trip to Melbourne under All Blacks load management

Rieko Ioane and Finlay Christie will miss the Blues' Super Round trip to Melbourne under All Blacks load management

Coach Vern Cotter says they've been left out of the travelling squad for Friday night's match against the Highlanders.

Ofa Tu'ungafasi and Akira Ioane return from injuries to start, while Ethan de Groot is back on the Highlanders' side of the fence.

The Hurricanes are facing somewhat of a loose forwards injury crisis with Du'Plessis Kirifi and Devan Flanders sidelined for the next few weeks and Brad Shields not yet fit for their match against the Reds on Sunday.
