Cronulla halfback Nicho Hynes claims common sense has prevailed with the NRL judiciary downgrading a potential ban to a fine, allowing him to play Saturday's elimination final against the Roosters

Cronulla halfback Nicho Hynes claims common sense has prevailed with the NRL judiciary downgrading a potential ban to a fine, allowing him to play Saturday's elimination final against the Roosters

Hynes was put on report for tackling Canterbury wing Marcelo Montoya during last week's win.

The Bulldogs helped Hynes' case by providing the NRL with mitigating medical information, saying an ankle injury suffered by Montoya wasn't as bad as first feared.

    Hynes was confident of acquittal.
