    Liverpool footballer Alexander Isak is set for a stint on the sidelines


    Reports out of England say the Swedish striker sustained a "significant lower leg injury" in Liverpool's 2-1 Premier League win over Tottenham yesterday.

    Isak took a blow from Spurs defender Micky van de Ven as he scored what proved to be the winning goal in the second half.

    The 26-year-old is set to undergo MRI scans today to determine the extent of the damage - and a timeline for his return.

    Isak joined Liverpool from Newcastle in a record Premier League deal of around 290 million dollars in September.
