Matsuyama's third round three-under 68 has him 13-under for the tournament, dodging a four-way logjam for second at 12-under.

Kiwi Ryan Fox is in a share of 25th at five-under while world number one Scottie Scheffler is lurking at eight-under.

Meanwhile, Elvis Smylie has arrived in the LIV building, with the Australian claiming victory in his debut tournament in Saudi Arabia



Smylie's 24-under score overall holding off Spain's Jon Rahm by one-stroke.

Kiwis Ben Campbell finished in a tie for 30th and Danny Lee in 41st.
