Wellington Phoenix coach Mark Rudan is doing all he can to keep one of his promising stars in check

Young All Whites midfielder Sarpreet Singh put out one of the great 'Nix performances in recent memory in the win over the Brisbane Roar.

Singh put on a show technically while also scoring a free kick and providing an assist.

But Rudan says the wary of not talking up the 19 year old too much.

He says it's important they protect him from the big bad world, with it crucial they just let Singh focus on his craft.
