North striker Nick Wilson's pleased to secure three points to open a hockey tournament he admits has an element of uncertainty to it

The North have overcome the South in an entertaining matchup 5-4 to open the men's domestic competition in Hamilton.

Wilson says they didn't quite know what to expect.

The tournament doubles as an Olympic trial which Wilson says makes for some fiery competition.

In the first women's game, the South edged the North 2-nil.
