Nine State of Origin reps have been charged by the match review committee for their involvement in the first half melee that spilled over the sideline in Brisbane last night

Nine State of Origin reps have been charged by the match review committee for their involvement in the first half melee that spilled over the sideline in Brisbane last night

Five are from the series-winning New South Wales side, including two that weren't even playing - 18th man Matt Burton and 19th man Haumole Olakau'atu - plus one - Cameron Murray - who was on the bench at the time.

Four Maroons players - Jeremiah Nanai, Reuben Cotter, Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow and Felise Kaufusi - all face fines for Contrary Conduct offences.

But Queensland captain Daly Cherry-Evans - who conceded the penalty that started the fracas - has their back.

Warriors second-rower Kurt Capewell has been charged twice, for a dangerous throw and contact in separate incidents.
