A box-office doubles pairing has been thrust together at the ASB women's tennis Classic

Venus Williams has decide to add doubles to her programme for the Auckland tournament, starting Monday.

She'll partner singles top seed Elina Svitolina in the doubles draw.

Tournament director Nicolas Lamperin played match-maker...after Williams' new husband told him she wanted to play doubles, too.

Williams - in as a wildcard - will play fifth seed Magna Linette in the first round of the singles draw.
