The Epidemic Response Committee has been disbanded

The Epidemic Response Committee has been disbanded

The opposition-controlled committee was set up to monitor the Government and its actions during Alert level 3 and 4 lockdowns.

Leader of the House Chris Hipkins says it served its role well and reinforced New Zealanders' confidence in our democratic system during a difficult time.

He's thanked Simon Bridges for his chairing of it.

Hipkins says with the country now operating in level 2, the committee is no longer needed.
