Team New Zealand is fighting to prevent a report into the spending of public money being published

Team New Zealand is fighting to prevent a report into the spending of public money being published

It includes allegations of a reclassified three-million-dollar loan -- and also claims the team was scammed into paying funds into a Hungarian bank account.

Team New Zealand and America's Cup Events deny any wrongdoing.

A legal battle this afternoon in the High Court at Auckland involved Team New Zealand, America's Cup Events NZME, the Government and Auckland Council.

It's after an interim High Court injunction was filed against NZME -- who wants the report made public on the grounds of public interest.

The yachting syndicate's lawyer, Davey Salmon says the report could cause 'serious reputational damage' to individuals, which may never be repaired.

He also said it contains 'scandalous allegations'.

Justice Simon Moore has reserved his decision -- and the interim injunction orders remain until his judgment.
