Government investment into kiwifruit industry is likely to extend into the summer season

Up to 200 thousand dollars of funding has been put towards growing jobs for people in the sector.

Kiwifruit Growers Chief Executive Nikki Johnson says they will be transferring what money is left over into the next seasonal job, summer pruning.

She says they will still be running theb same kind of concept because it's a really good way of identifying people who are interested in the industry and giving them a head start.
