Resource consent is yet to be granted for Christchurch Hospital's planned 450-space car park

Resource consent is yet to be granted for Christchurch Hospital's planned 450-space car park

There have been concerns over safety - with staff, patients and visitors subjected to long walks - sometimes at night through Hagley Park.

Plans for the building, between St Asaph Street and Hagley Ave, were released in September - with construction expected to start before the end of a year.

A spokesperson for Ngai Tahu Property - which is overseeing the project - says the resource consent is still being processed through Christchurch City Council.

But Council says it's still waiting for information from Ngai Tahu before it can grant consent.
