    National MP Simon O'Connor has beaten a challenge for the party's candidacy in the Tamaki electorate


    Newstalk ZB understands O'Connor - who has held the Auckland seat since 2011 - won the support of party members and delegates last night.

    Auckland lawyer Andrew Grant and restaurateur Sang Cho challenged O'Connor for the spot, which he won with an eight-thousand vote majority in the last election.
