The Building and Construction Minister says he's open to a 'nuanced approach' to insulation standards

The Building and Construction Minister says he's open to a 'nuanced approach' to insulation standards

Chris Penk's considering rolling back the H1 insulation requirements brought in May last year - due to concerns over their costs.

But the changes had strong support from the industry - and were the first improvements to the standards in decades.

Penk says we might need more differentiation across the country based on each region's needs.

He says we might have to point people towards modelling and calculation methods - that allow for more nuance - rather than requiring boxes to be ticked at additional costs.
