Nurses are set to join a march in Buller protesting the closure of West Coast urgent GP clinics this weekend

Nurses are set to join a march in Buller protesting the closure of West Coast urgent GP clinics this weekend

From the start of October, Ka Ora Telehealth will provide after hours primary care, and patients will need referrals to see a doctor.

But the Nurses Organisation is worried the Government's cost cutting is putting the health system under even more pressure.

President Kerri Nuku says these cuts have a knock-on effect and will overburden Buller Hospital even more.

She says patients will pay the price for cuts and services, and the reduction in quality of access.
