Hopes a new report will bring much needed changes to the struggling care sector

Hopes a new report will bring much needed changes to the struggling care sector

Union E Tu has presented the report to the Government, which outlines problems all areas of the industry face.

It's part of a wider campaign with three core pillars that need addressing -- the value, standard and funding of care.

Assistant National Secretary Annie Newman says it won't be an instant fix, but the Government needs to recognise the scope of the problems.

She says increasing numbers of people need care, and yet there is insufficient funding and inadequate oversight of it by people who have a vested interest in it.
