Division over recent haka in Parliament in protest against ACT's Treaty Principles Bill

Division over recent haka in Parliament in protest against ACT's Treaty Principles Bill

Te Pati Maori MP Hana-Rawhiti Maipi-Clarke was suspended from Parliament after she lead the haka during the bill's first reading.

That video has gone viral on social media.

ACT Leader David Seymour says the behaviour is shameful.

Mr Seymour says it's embarrassed the country globally, despite Te Pati Maori thinking its good.

Labour MP Duncan Webb says it was a point well made.

Mr Webb says Ms Maipi-Clarke knew the consequences and accepted them.
