The Chief Inspector for Corrections is disappointed at the medical wait times at Mt Eden Prison

The Chief Inspector for Corrections is disappointed at the medical wait times at Mt Eden Prison

Janis Adair has published 31 findings into the prison today after conducting an assessment in October.

They range from positive findings about leadership and addiction services, to negative findings about staff shortages and prisoner treatment.

Adair says some prisoners are waiting an unreasonable time to see a nurse or doctor.

She says, in some cases, the delays led to further health complications.
