A view that more EV brands flooding New Zealand will be a real test for the domestic market

A view that more EV brands flooding New Zealand will be a real test for the domestic market

Five new car companies, all from China, have announced plans to set up shop in New Zealand within the last two months.

Dongfeng is joining Zeekr, Farizon, XPeng, and IM - all with a predominant EV focus.

Chief Executive Simon Rutherford says the market's shifted and people are more accepting of electric cars.

He says that transition was always going to take time.
