Waitangi Day commemorations are still set to go ahead

Kiwis will flock to the Far North in less than two weeks to mark the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi.

Politicians are also planning to make their annual pilgrimage up the country.

Covid-19 Response Minister Chris Hipkins says he's yet to see any evidence that events will be disrupted.

But he says we're still in the early stages - and people should stay vigilant.
