    Concerns about skills shortages are front of mind in the civil construction industry


    The latest Construction Industry Survey found half identified the shortage of people as the number one issue they're facing - while another 30 per cent put it in their top four.

    Civil Contractors New Zealand CEO Peter Silcock says it's about having access to talent and skills from offshore.

    He says it's not so much an MIQ place shortage, but the immigration settings and they're having an active discussion with the Government about that.
