Chris Bishop has hinted at throwing his hat in the ring for the National Party leadership

Chris Bishop has hinted at throwing his hat in the ring for the National Party leadership

The party's Covid response spokesperson reveals he's thinking about it.

Caucus will meet on Tuesday to decide Judith Collins replacement, after she lost a vote of no confidence yesterday.

Simon Bridges has declared he'll make a bid for the top spot and interim leader Shane Reti won't rule out making a move.

Christopher Luxon, Mark Mitchell and Nicola Willis are also on the table as possible contenders.

Bishop says his merits as a potential leader are for others to judge.

But he says he has led the charge on the biggest issue facing the country for over a year, including MIQ and rapid antigen testing.
