UNICEF's latest report card puts us 19th out of 39 countries, with rates reducing 12-percent over a seven-year period.
Chief Children's Commissioner, Claire Achmad says it's encouraging.
She says it's crucial the new Government prioritise children in its decision-making, and commit to further reductions.
Achmad says every family should have the resources they need to help their children flourish.
