Former New Zealand Rugby board member Richard Dellabarca is the consortium principal for a sports and entertainment precinct.
Herald Super City Reporter Bernard Orsman says it would encompass the main stadium, an indoor arena to replace the Viaduct Events Centre, and an outdoor amphitheatre.
The plan is one of four proposals being pitched to an Auckland Council working group, to determine the best multi-purpose stadium for the city.
The others are expanding Eden Park, a 70-thousand-seat, fully enclosed stadium sunk into the Waitemata Harbour, and a waterfront stadium precinct at Quay Park.
The group's expected to make a recommendation after the summer recess.
