The Prime Minister's reflecting on his quick rise to leading the country

The Prime Minister's reflecting on his quick rise to leading the country

Chris Luxon began his political career as National's Botany MP, winning the seat in the Labour dominated 2020 election.

Three years later, Luxon led the party to victory in last year's election, having taken the reigns from Judith Collins.

He says after the 2020 election National was very dysfunctional, with five leaders in as many years.

Luxon says it's happened quickly with him not making his maiden Parliamentary speech until March of 2021, before taking the leadership in November following that year's lockdown.
