The Broadcasting Minister says TVNZ is considering changes to programming

The Broadcasting Minister says TVNZ is considering changes to programming

It's understood newsroom staff will be called into a meeting tomorrow about business strategy - which is expected to include job cuts.

Just last week, competitor Newshub announced its shock shuttering from June - which will come at the loss of 300 jobs.

Minister Melissa Lee says she spoke with TVNZ and has not been told they are reducing staff from news.

She says it's for TVNZ to answer some questions and is an operation matter she has no control over, but they're looking at many options.
