The Education Review Office is proposing to disestablish 25 roles, after being directed by the government to cut spending.
The PSA's Fleur Fitzsimons says this government is really targeting education when it comes to its cuts, and it doesn't make sense.
She says the cuts at ERO, are on top of cuts at the Ministry of Education, NZQA and Tertiary Education Commission.
ERO says a consultation process is currently underway on a draft proposal, and no decisions have been made yet.
