Auckland Central MP Chloe Swarbrick says she's looking into Auckland Transport plans to implement 24/7 parking fees in the CBD

The rates, which will see people pay for around the clock parking during times that used to be free, are set to be implemented by July.

Swarbrick says she'd like to know if a residents parking exemption was investigated, and whether it could be part of the solution.

Auckland Transport says this is one of the ways they're addressing cost challenges, and is also part of work to make better use of road space.
