New Payments New Zealand data, shows around 37 percent of respondents are comfortable with sharing their banking data with a third party, up from 27 percent in 2022.
Chief executive Steve Wiggins says Kiwis are feeling more confident knowing the system is safe and they're in control.
He says there's also been a positive shift in attitude in what open banking can be used for in payments and services.
Wiggins says it's being used more for services like bill payments, and moving money automatically between accounts to avoid overdrafts.
