    Opening a bank account remains a challenge for some


    The Reserve Bank's published research which found a third of frontline staff were unable to open an account for someone often.

    Reserve Bank Financial Inclusion Principal Adviser, Tom Bayliss, says Barriers identified include ID requirements, complex paperwork and a lack of branches.

    He says in the modern world having a bank account is becoming more and more vital.

    Bayliss says that includes for things like making payments and receiving an income.
