David Seymour's promising to be a bit different from the deputy prime ministers that have have come before

David Seymour's promising to be a bit different from the deputy prime ministers that have have come before

The Act Leader has been formally sworn in as Deputy PM in Auckland, this afternoon.

He takes over from New Zealand First Leader Winston Peters, who's landing back in the country this afternoon, following a visit to India -- and he'll remain in the position until next year's election.

Speaking at his swearing, Seymour says he'll be a bit quirky, but not deliberately so.

He says the great thing about quirkiness is it's spontaneous and just happens.
