The Government is tearing down red tape to make it easier for new players to enter the supermarket sector

It's received 24 submissions from existing and prospective grocery businesses on the problems they face setting up in New Zealand.
Finance Minister Nicola Willis says companies are struggling to find appropriate sites for new development, and the situation's made worse by council zoning and consent processes.
She's announced an express lane for players looking to establish or expand here.
The Government will amend the fast track approval process so supermarket companies can make use of it.
