Sector workers say changes to the Jobseeker scheme will make a positive difference - as demand for youth support soars

The Government's announced a thousand dollar bonus for certain people who stay off benefits for a year.

Parents who earn more than 65-and-a-half thousand dollars will also have to support their 18 and 19-year-olds.

Blue Light Youth Chief Operating Officer, Rod Bell says their services are getting three times more applications than they used to.

He says this is a positive thing to get families to support their young people and inspire them to stay away from the benefit.
