    A Waikato rest-home's been censured for not giving appropriate care to a 92-year-old woman


    Freda Love died in 2017.

    She lived at St Kilda Care Services, in Cambridge, owned by healthcare company Bupa.

    Love had a long-term indwelling catheter, needed a sling and staff help to be transferred, and was at high risk of pressure sores.

    Deputy Health and Disability Commissioner Rose Wall was critical staff hadn't followed Love's care plan and the rest home catheter policy.

    She was also critical staff hadn't received hoist and transfer training, and were slow to refer Love to a wound care specialist.
