Midwives are relieved to be among those next in line for the Covid jab later later this month

Midwives are relieved to be among those next in line for the Covid jab later later this month

They're among frontline health workers such as Covid testers, GPs, nurses and pharmacists identified to be vaccinated in the next group.

New Zealand College of Midwives CEO Alison Eddy says midwives work in hospitals and homes, and could be exposed to the virus.

She says they could also unwittingly transmit it so vaccinating the frontline is a good thing.
