Precautions to stop Covid-19 vaccinators being exposed to the virus

Precautions to stop Covid-19 vaccinators being exposed to the virus

The Prime Minister revealed our latest Covid border case, an airline worker, got their first jab days before testing positive -- but pointed out it takes a fortnight for the vaccine to start working.

Director of the Immunisation Advisory Centre Dr Nikki Turner says the vaccinators wear masks, to mitigate infection.

She says there's a small remote risk that a vaccinator could be infected, hence the importance of ensuring vaccinators are protected first.

Auckland Airport Countdown's a location of interest and anyone who visited last Wednesday between midday and 1.30pm should watch for symptoms.
