This year's Budget's been dubbed a let down for the women of New Zealand

This year's Budget's been dubbed a let down for the women of New Zealand

The Breast Cancer Foundation says it's completely failed to address the backlog of 50-thousand women overdue for their mammograms.

Major spending's ring-fenced for the health sector, including nearly 200-million dollars for Pharmac.

Chief executive Ah-Leen Rayner says it's pitched as a wellbeing budget - but ignores the leading cause of death for women under 65.

She says there's profound fear for the hundreds of women who could be now be harder to treat - or worse - have untreatable breast cancer.
